HealthyFarm conducted an on-site technical assistance visit to CAS Farm in Khánh Hòa from May 9–10, 2024. CAS Farm operates a unique 10-hectare solar-powered farm and is pioneering a model that combines free-range chicken farming with sustainable, climate-smart practices.

During the visit, HealthyFarm’s technical expert, Mr. Han Quang Hanh, provided hands-on consultation and addressed CAS Farm’s immediate concerns related to small egg size and improving net egg weight. His technical assessment offered practical guidance to support CAS Farm’s long-term goals.

Key Areas of Technical Support

• Farm Design & Management
Mr. Hanh shared specific recommendations on nesting box setup, lighting adjustments, and other management practices to support better laying performance.

• Sustainable & Alternative Feed Development
As CAS Farm aims to reduce reliance on industrial feed and improve egg quality, alternative feed options were explored. Recommendations included incorporating locally available ingredients such as seaweed, probiotic-fermented cornstarch, and fish bone powder to create a more cost-effective and nutritious diet.

• Follow-up Online Training
To further support CAS Farm, two additional online training sessions were delivered on May 23 and May 28, 2024, focusing on proper brooding techniques for baby chicks. These sessions aligned with CAS Farm’s plan to raise their own laying hens and strengthen early-stage flock management.
