The HealthyFarm team participated in the Southeast Asia Regional Conference hosted by World Animal Protection (WAP) from March 5–7, 2024. The event convened leading organizations working across the region to build a shared strategic vision for advancing farmed animal welfare in Southeast Asia.

Key Strategic Discussions


• Vision Setting & Systems Change
Participants collaborated on developing a unified Theory of Change aimed at addressing systemic issues within the food system and transitioning toward more humane and sustainable practices.

• Welfare Standards – “Good Life” Framework
Conference sessions explored the development of the Good Life standards, which focus on reducing the number of farmed animals, improving welfare conditions, and promoting more compassionate alternatives.

• Impact Measurement
A core discussion centered on distinguishing between direct and indirect animal impact, ensuring organizations adopt consistent and transparent approaches to measuring progress.

The conference successfully strengthened collaboration between regional actors and helped shape the collective direction for farmed animal welfare work in Southeast Asia.
